Safety

Norwood’s Award-Winning Safety Program is designed to help protect everyone from preventable injuries by putting SAFETY FIRST on all of our work sites.

Norwood is a Partnership Participant of the United States Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) through Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC).  We are audited annually through S.T.E.P., ABC’s Safety Training and Evaluation Process. Our efforts continue to earn the Diamond level status, a designation given to those companies that display the highest level of safety performance and long-term commitment to job site safety.  Additionally, Norwood’s Corporate Safety Committee has been certified by The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Norwood’s EHS Director acts as Chairman of Norwood’s Corporate Safety Committee, spearheads all staff and subcontractor training, conducts weekly inspections, directs ‘Tool-Box’ meetings, and enforces all safety requirements on each project. Providing full-time on-site supervision, our team creates a separation of construction spaces, clearly communicates restricted areas, provides way-finding signage throughout the site, and operates with the vigilance and sensitivity necessary to communicate safety requirements so everyone understands how to maintain daily activities safely.

Driven by a steadfast commitment to Safety First and bolstered by strong leadership, Norwood excels in managing complex logistics, ensuring minimal disruption while upholding the highest standards of safety and security. We expertly navigate projects that require rigorous infection control measures and secure work zones. As a result, our commitment is reflected in our impressive EMR of 0.753, well below the industry standard, as well as excellent customer scores on Avetta & ISNetworld Prequalification platforms.

On your job site, Norwood’s team will implement a tailored logistics plan and a site-specific safety plan to ensure a clean and safe environment where each worker is an active and willing participant in our safety culture.
