Norwood constructed a 55,000 SF facility for the Institute for Defense Analysis, an agency engaged in research and strategic analysis for government entities. Norwood provided extensive preconstruction services, enabling the institute to meet its complex security and design goals. The facility was designed with tight security and a majority of the building is enclosed in a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) where all communication is considered classified, secure, and restricted. The building contains an expansive global data center. The conference center doubles as a video-conferencing room featuring stadium seating, 20’ split screens, video cameras and microphones at each seat, an adjacent A/V controller room, and a large recessed library.
