The Norwood Company recently received multiple Awards of Excellence in Construction from The Associated Builders and Contractors’ Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter. The awards recognized excellence in the planning and construction of suburban office, institutional/non-profit, and healthcare facilities, as well as Norwood’s commitment to the promotion and creation of sustainable facilities.
AWeber Communications, a LEED Gold certified corporate headquarters in Chalfont, PA, won The Best Green Build Award. Designed by Wulff Architects, the 70,000 square foot office space showcases one-of-kind amenities and extensive sustainable design elements. Green building features include a living wall with a 2-story rain curtain, daylight harvesting, a high-efficiency HVAC system, and intelligent data center designed to optimize energy usage.
The Lenfest Center at ChesLen Preserve won the Excellence Award for Best Institutional Project under $10 million. Norwood served as construction manager for the ultra-sustainable management and education center, the hub of a 1,200 acre nature preserve located in Newlin Township, Chester County, PA.
LourdesCare at Cherry Hill was also awarded a Certificate of Merit by ABC’s Eastern PA Chapter. Acting as design-builder, Norwood worked in partnership with architects, Environetics and Alberto & Associates to transform a blighted former grocery store into a state-of-the-art ambulatory care facility that now serves thousands of South Jersey patients through The Lourdes Health System.
