Serving as design-builder, Norwood completed a 325,000 square foot expansion of a LEED Gold certified, temperature-controlled distribution facility for Americold Logistics, one of the world’s largest owners and operators of cold storage warehouses. The expansion significantly increases operational capacity—doubling daily truck traffic to 490 trips—and strengthens the facility’s ability to meet growing customer demand with greater speed and efficiency.
Norwood originally constructed the 268,000-square-foot facility in the late 1990s, delivering both sub-zero frozen food storage and conventional cold storage environments. Building on that longstanding partnership, the new expansion integrates advanced refrigeration systems, high-bay racking, and streamlined logistics infrastructure to support high-volume throughput while maintaining strict temperature and quality controls.
