Norwood completed renovations to a 25,000 square foot food-grade processing and distribution facility on behalf of The Appeeling Fruit, a fresh apple processor providing ready-to-eat slices packaged for individual or group servings.
The comprehensive renovation included the replacement of the floor slab, mechanical and electrical upgrades, reconstruction of the loading dock area with metal siding and brush seals. All joints were caulked, and the walls and floors sealed with washable epoxy, designed for the highest level of sanitation.
The finished product is kept in cold storage until it is shipped out to keep the apples at their optimum freshness. For the same reason, the processing room is also kept at a constantly chilly, but good-for-apples, 37 degrees.
