The Norwood Company served as design-builder for a 530,000 square foot food-grade cold storage distribution center for Trader Joe’s, a privately-owned chain of specialty grocery stores. The facility includes 100,000 square feet of 34-degree ammonia refrigerated cooler room, 90,000 square feet of 70-degree air-conditioned storage area, 325,000 square feet ambient storage area, 15,000 square feet of office area, and 110 loading docks with a drive-in ramp and the capacity to house 300 storage trailers. Norwood also constructed an on-site vehicle maintenance building and fuel station.
