The Norwood Company recently celebrated the start of a major addition to Doylestown Hospital centered around the expansion of the hospital’s cardiovascular program. At approximately 100,000-square-feet, the new addition will significantly expand the hospital’s patient care capabilities. Included in the addition is 30 new private rooms in cardiovascular intensive care and interventional vascular units, new hybrid operating suites, dedicated pre and post-procedure spaces and upgraded equipment with the most advanced technologies. Numerous amenities for patient and family comfort will also be included. Patients will access all of the new services from a new, multi-story central atrium.
Acting as construction manager, Norwood is partnering with John S. McManus and architect Heery International on the project. Collaboration services include the incorporation of the latest in design technology, including BIM and virtual reality imaging. Completion of the project is scheduled for 2019.
