On April 19th, The Norwood Company and representatives of the Rivers Casino & Resort development team came together with local officials and community leaders to celebrate the project’s topping off. Rivers Casino & Resort is a mixed use entertainment destination being developed on a brownfield site overlooking the Mohawk River in Schenectady, NY.
Designed by Klai Juba Architects, Cleo Design and DMAC Architecture, the project will feature a 155,000 square foot gaming venue with a 55,000 square foot casino floor, 1,150 slot machines, 66 gaming tables, a high-end steakhouse, a “marketplace” with lite fare restaurants, an entertainment lounge, a banquet hall, and a spa. Additionally, a 6-story, 150-room hotel with a 60,000 square foot 4-level parking garage will accommodate casino patrons. The fast-track project is on target to be completed in early 2017. Norwood is partnering with LeChase Construction of Rochester, NY to provide construction management services.
