Norwood is currently working to transform a 175-year-old building on the Schuylkill River’s banks to serve as CityLight’s new Manayunk campus. Navigating challenges due to its location in a flood zone, its status as a historic structure, and the project’s aggressive carbon goals, the team is working collaboratively to ensure successful delivery. Once completed, the new church will feature a 500-seat worship space as well as educational and pre-function areas on the second floor, while the ground level will be left unoccupied to avoid flood damage. A rooftop photovoltaic system will help lower the facility’s operational carbon footprint.
