Partnering with Pennsylvania Biotechnology Center, Norwood completed construction on a 40,000 square foot expansion. The project includes 15 BL2 laboratories, a conference center, office space, cafeteria, and parking.
To accomplish the project goals, the team was tasked with the relocation and upgrade of utilities throughout the campus, the phased installation of multiple storm water management locations, and changes to the parking requirements in accordance with the DEP’s construction sequence. Due to the building’s footprint location in the middle of the existing campus between 2 occupied buildings, the team implemented a precise execution plan to address safety and environmental concerns while minimizing disruption.
Norwood also served as construction manager for PA Biotech’s original conversion project which transformed a vacant 62,000 square foot warehouse into a state-of-the-art early-stage life science incubation facility.
